Sunny Sonntag Walk on the Rhine

On Sunday morning, Sean and I crossed the bridge over the Rhine to go for a walk and do some more exploring. The city center where most of the action happens in Bonn, and where the town center and the University are located, is concentrated on the right bank.  That’s the side we live on. Crossing the bridge lands you in the neighborhood called Beuel. Though largely residential there were numerous restaurants, Biergartens, and an Asian biergarten boat alongside the river there too.

Sunday was a very sunny, crisp (only about 50 degrees F, or 10 degrees C!) morning and couldn’t have felt more like fall. The river is so lovely and the paths on either side are lined by trees of some short and shady variety that make the walk even more pleasant.  We passed so many couples, families, kids, dogs, runners and bikers, some roller bladers too. Wir brauchen einen Hund!

The light was lovely but splotchy of course, I’m still learning how to best take pics in this light.

This little Crepe and Coffee cart obviously excited me – we didn’t get anything though. Next time!

We found this little Take a Book, Leave a Book Library, like the Tiny Library Movement in the U.S. I love this - books for everyone, everywhere!
